Von 1970 bis 1974 wagte sich das renommierte Unternehmen General Electric in den Bereich der Rasenpflege mit seinen innovativen Elec-Trak Elektro-Traktoren. Die Marktakzeptanz blieb jedoch enttäuschend, was GE dazu veranlasste, das Eigentum der Elec-Trak-Linie 1974 an Wheel Horse zu übertragen. Wheel Horse setzte die Produktion dieser bahnbrechenden Elektro-Traktoren dann weitere neun Jahre fort und beendete sie 1983.
