Au début du 21e siècle, Lenar opérait en tant qu'entreprise américaine spécialisée dans l'importation de tracteurs fabriqués en Chine. Leur première incursion sur le marché a débuté en 2003 avec les tracteurs Jiangling. Cependant, des difficultés sont apparues dans leurs relations avec Jiangling, aggravées par l'acquisition de l'usine de production Jaingxi par Mahindra, ce qui a conduit à un changement stratégique en 2005 vers les tracteurs Dongfeng. Lenar a étendu sa portée en établissant un réseau de distributeurs à travers l'Europe, mais a finalement succombé à des pressions financières, conduisant à l'arrêt des activités de l'entreprise en 2008.
