Nichols-Shepard
No crepúsculo do século XIX e no amanhecer do século XX, a Nichols-Shepard se destacou como uma criadora proeminente de máquinas agrícolas. Suas origens remontam à humilde oficina de ferreiro de John Nichols, estabelecida em Battle Creek, Michigan. As principais ofertas da empresa se concentravam em máquinas debulhadoras inovadoras e potentes máquinas a vapor. Um novo capítulo começou em 1929 quando a Nichols-Shepard uniu forças com a Hart-Parr e a Oliver Chilled Plow, dando origem à Oliver Farm Equipment. Mesmo após essa consolidação, a unidade de Battle Creek continuou a produção de colheitadeiras e debulhadores de milho por mais três décadas, até 1962, quando a White adquiriu a Oliver e, finalmente, encerrou as operações na fábrica.
