Introducing the Next Generation of Case Backhoe Loaders

Case – March 15, 2023

Case Construction Equipment is revitalizing a legendary name and unveiling three innovative backhoe loader models: the Case Utility Plus, the Case 580SV Construction King, and the Case 695SV Construction King. The Case Utility Plus and the Case 580SV Construction King, featuring a center-pivot design, are currently available. The 695SV and 580SV with side-shift capabilities will arrive later in 2023.

“The Case backhoe has always represented the pinnacle of two-in-one functionality, and as we navigate today’s evolving workforce challenges and diverse jobsite demands – all while prioritizing efficiency – we're witnessing a genuine transformation within the backhoe market,” explains George MacIntyre, Product Manager at Case Construction Equipment. “Historically favored by owner-operators, we are now offering an even wider range of backhoe loader options that appeal to businesses grappling with a shortage of skilled operators, and who could greatly benefit from the reduced ownership and operating costs of a single machine offering such comprehensive functionality.”

The two newest models now available in the North American market – enriching the existing lineup of Case N Series backhoes – are the Case Utility Plus and the Case 580SV Construction King center-pivot.

The all-new Case Utility Plus delivers full-scale backhoe performance within a streamlined, efficient platform that’s easy to own, simple to maintain, and kind to your bottom line. This new 74 horsepower machine features a spacious cab with outstanding visibility to all work areas, remarkably easy servicing with a maintenance-free emissions system (eliminating the need for DPF or DEF), and intuitive controls (offering a choice between pilot or mechanical operation). Mechanical controls cater to seasoned operators who appreciate the traditional backhoe feel, while pilot controls are ideal for rental businesses and contractors with less experienced crews.

“This model can be considered an entry point, yet it performs and provides capabilities rivaling those of a full-sized backhoe,” MacIntyre clarifies. “We’ve engineered it for simplicity, making it perfect for rental applications and businesses where it’s not a daily workhorse, but it's also equipped for options like the Extendahoe and attachment compatibility via one-way auxiliary hydraulics on the dipper, appealing to businesses with more demanding needs. It’s designed for versatility, allowing equipment owners to scale up from a basic foundation.”

The all-new Case 580SV Construction King reintroduces a tool carrier-style front end to the Case backhoe line in North America, making it well-suited for businesses where the loader is a primary material handling tool – loading and unloading pallets, moving pipe, and other bundled materials around the yard. Equipped with a 4-in-1 bucket, a 6-in-1 bucket, or any of the countless attachments available for Case backhoes, this model transforms into a robust multi-purpose jobsite solution, further enhanced by a hydraulic quick coupler for effortless changeovers. The new center-pivot model is available immediately in the North American market, and Case will introduce a side-shift model later in 2023.

“With 97 horsepower, the Case 580SV Construction King is a straightforward yet resilient addition to any backhoe fleet, and, like the Utility Plus, can be enhanced with premium features such as the Extendahoe and Auto-Ride Control,” MacIntyre adds.

The upcoming side-shift model, slated for release later in 2023, will unlock even greater jobsite maneuverability and performance in confined spaces. The Case 580SV Construction King side shift will integrate in-line vertical stabilizers for offset digging and working in applications requiring close proximity to structures, or minimizing footprint size – such as roadside utility projects.

“The combination of in-line stabilizers and a backhoe digging boom capable of lateral shifting allows operators to work flush against buildings and structures, and minimizes space requirements in roadside applications with stabilizers that remain within the machine’s footprint,” MacIntyre elaborates.

“With the introduction of these new models, alongside our existing N Series backhoes, we’re offering a truly diverse portfolio of backhoe solutions for contractors and businesses of all sizes across North America.”

Expanding Variety and Versatility in the North American Market in 2023

Later this year, Case will unveil two Case 695SV Construction King models – a center-pivot model and a side-shift model. The 695SV Construction King is a larger, more powerful backhoe loader featuring four-wheel steer and equally sized tires. This combination of four-wheel steer and large tires makes it ideal for loading tasks while still offering the flexibility to switch between loader and backhoe attachments. It also incorporates parallel lift tool carrier-style loader arms for more intensive material handling applications.

“It’s a perfect fit for municipalities and larger construction sites that require efficient performance in both loader and backhoe operations,” MacIntyre says. “As these new models reach the market, Case will boast one of the largest and most comprehensive backhoe offerings in the industry, all supported by a dealer network spanning North America with unparalleled expertise in backhoe loaders.”

Launch timing for the 695SV Construction King models will be announced later in 2023.
