In 1990, Hitachi Construction Machinery expanded its capabilities through the acquisition of Hinomoto/Toyosha, thereby gaining a comprehensive range of agricultural tractors. Almost a decade later, in 1997, the Toyosha branding transitioned to the Tierra name. By 2011, Tierra became wholly integrated within Hitachi Construction, leading to the discontinuation of agricultural tractor manufacturing.

Originating in Metzingen, Germany, the company commenced tractor production in 1930. Following World War II, Holder transitioned its focus to crafting compact, highly maneuverable, four-wheel drive tractors – ideally suited for the demands of smaller agricultural holdings and European vineyards. Currently, a substantial segment of Holder's offerings caters to the needs of municipal service providers.
