Troy-Bilt lawn tractors
Troy-Bilt is the brand name for a line of gardening tools built first by Garden Way, now by MTD. WATCO, a Troy, New York company sold parts for the Rototiller line. In 1967 WATCO created the Troy-Bilt name for a new tiller line and in 1968, WATCO changed its name to Garden Way. When Garden Way entered banktruptcy in 2001, MTD acquired the Troy-Bilt brand.

Ventrac lawn tractors
Ventrac is a manufacturer of compact utility and grounds-keeping tractors in Ohio. Ventrac can trace its history to Marvin Steiner's shop in rural Ohio. The resulting Steiner brand was sold to Ransomes in 1988, but several members of the Steiner family created Venture Products in 1996. Toro purchased Ventrac in 2020.

Wheel Horse lawn tractors
Wheel Horse started in Elmer Pond's garage in 1946. Mr. Pond started building two-wheel garden tractors using surplus parts. Within ten years, his business had become very successful and began to build a full line of lawn and garden tractors, in addition to riding lawn mowers. Wheel Horse lawn tractors are known for their standardization across the years. Wheel Horse was purchased by Toro in 1986. Toro continued to build lawn tractors using the Wheel Horse name until 2007.

White lawn tractors
White's lawn and garden tractor line began in 1970 when it discontinued the Minneapolis-Moline Town & Country lawn tractor line and renamed it the White Town & Country lawn tractor (White had purchased Minneapolis-Moline in 1963). White Outdoor was purchased by MTD in 1981. After 2010, MTD stopped manufacturing new White lawn tractors.

Woods lawn tractors
Woods Equipment is a US-based manufacturer of tractor attachments, particularly mowers. Beginning in the late 1980s, Woods sold a line of front-mount commercial mowers using the Mow'n Machine brand. Mowers were sourced from vendors including Grasshopper and Ariens.

Yamaha lawn tractors
Japanese manufacturer Yamaha built lawn tractor and lawn mowers in the late 1980s. Founded in 1955, Yamaha has a long history with small engines in a variety of power sports applications. Yamaha began building lawn tractors in 1988 to extend its line of outdoor power equipment. Yamaha lawn tractor production ended by the early 1990s.

Yanmar lawn tractors
The Yanmar was founded in Japan in 1912. The firm has a long history with small diesel engines. The agricultural equipment division of the company was started in 1961. Yanmar entered into an arrangement with John Deere and began building several utility tractor models in the early 1980s for Deere. Yanmar continues to be an engine supplier for Deere's utility tractors. Yanmar entered an agreement with MTD in 2006 to jointly market compact tractors under the Cub Cadet Yanmar name in North America. The arrangement ended in 2011 and Yanmar America became the sold provider for the tractors.

Yard Pro lawn tractors
The Yard Pro brand was used by American Yard Products (AYP) for lawn and garden tractors sold in the early 1990s. Swedish conglomerate Electrolux purchased the Roper lawn and garden division in 1989 and renamed the group American Yard Products. Lawn and garden tractors were sold in the USA under the Yard Pro, Rally, and Rally Plus brands until 2000 when the division was again reorganized. By 2006, the former Roper production was fully merged into Husqvarna.

Yard-Man lawn tractors
Yard-Man has its origins in Jackson, Michigan around 1933, building reel type push lawn mowers. The Yard-Man brand was eventually purchased by the Montgomery Ward department store, a major retailer of the brand. Yard-Man was sold to MTD in 1975 and the Jackson factory was closed. MTD discontinued the use of the Yard-Man name on tractors in 2015.
