McCormick-Deering W-9

Standard-tread tractor

The 9-series tractors consisted of six models, the W-9, WD-9, WR-9, WDR-9, I-9, and ID-9. The D models are diesel. The R is a rice model, with larger fenders and a hand-clutch to allow driving while standing. The I models were industrial, with different gear ratios and foot-operated throttle.

The gasoline engine was standard on the I-9, and an option on the W-9 until 1947, when it became the standard engine.

The all-fuel engine was designed for tractor fuel and gasoline lower than 70 octane. It was the standard W-9 and WR-9 engine until 1947, when the gasoline engine became standard and the all-fuel engine was an option. The all-fuel engine was an option for the I-9.

Fifth gear was locked out on tractors equipped with steel wheels.
