In the twilight of the 1940s, Ferruccio Lamborghini began his industrial journey crafting tractors within Italy's burgeoning postwar landscape. These early machines were ingeniously assembled from repurposed military components left over from the Second World War. By 1954, Lamborghini's ambition had propelled the company to design and build its own powerful engines. Expansion soon followed, venturing into the realm of exhilarating, high-performance sports automobiles. As the 1960s drew to a close, Ferruccio's focus shifted away from agricultural machinery, culminating in the formal acquisition of the firm by SAME in 1971. Even now, the iconic Lamborghini name continues to grace tractors, operating as an integral part of the SAME Deutz-Fahr Group.
